Rules for using the platform

Terms of Service

These terms set out the conditions for accessing and using the Start4Me platform and its institutional instances.

Last updated: 2 September 2026

Summary of key points

Use the platform responsibly, protect your account and respect other people. Start4Me supports vocational guidance but does not replace professional assessment or guarantee an academic or career outcome.

Acceptance and scope of these terms

By creating an account or using this instance, you enter into these Terms of Service with Start4Me, the provider identified on this page as making access available. Read this document before continuing.

If a school, clinic, company or other organization gave you access, that institution's agreement with Start4Me and compatible institutional rules may also apply. Those rules cannot reduce rights granted to the user by these terms or by law.

The Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy supplement these terms. Mandatory legal rights, especially those of consumers, children and teenagers, always prevail over any incompatible provision.

What the platform provides

Start4Me organizes vocational-guidance and learning resources such as paths, tests and reflections, a profession catalog, journal, files, interviews, communications and follow-ups with authorized professionals.

Available resources depend on the user's role, the institution responsible for the instance and the contracted configuration. Some features are optional or require specific authorization.

Use by minors and the role of guardians

People under 18 must use the platform with authorization and oversight appropriate to their age and applicable law. Children must not create an account independently.

Parents, guardians and institutions authorizing use must explain these terms in age-appropriate language, supervise use where necessary and ensure that registration and data processing have the required authorizations. The best interests of the child or teenager must guide every decision.

Account, credentials and access

  • Provide truthful, current information that is necessary to use the service.
  • Keep passwords, access links and other credentials confidential and use the available security controls.
  • Do not share your account, impersonate another person or attempt to access a profile, institution or content without authorization.
  • Immediately notify the responsible institution or support if you suspect lost credentials, unauthorized access or another security issue.

Acceptable use

You must not use the platform to:

  • Carry out unlawful or fraudulent activity or violate another person's rights.
  • Harass, threaten, discriminate against, expose or harm students, professionals or other people.
  • Upload malicious, unlawful or misleading content, or content that violates privacy, confidentiality, image rights, copyright or other required permissions.
  • Bypass permissions, test vulnerabilities without authorization, interfere with the service or introduce harmful code, files or traffic.
  • Extract data in bulk, automate unauthorized access or use results for high-impact decisions without human review and a legitimate basis.
  • Resell, copy or commercially exploit the platform, its brand or its content outside the contracted authorization.

Your content and intellectual property

You retain the rights you already hold in notes, responses, interviews, files and other content you submit.

By submitting content, you grant only the non-exclusive permission needed to store, process, secure, transmit and display it to authorized people, and to maintain backups, so the service can operate under these terms and the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for having the rights and permissions required for what you submit, including where content contains another person's data or image. Institutions and professionals are responsible for the materials they publish and related permissions.

The software, visual identity, templates, catalogs and materials supplied by the platform or its licensors remain protected. The user receives a limited, personal, revocable and non-transferable license to use them within authorized features.

Educational nature and professional guidance

Tests, indicators, content and suggestions support education and vocational reflection. They are not a clinical diagnosis or medical, legal or financial advice.

Professionals using the platform remain responsible for their technical judgment, their relationship with the student and compliance with the rules of their profession. The platform does not direct or replace that professional work.

Interests, circumstances and opportunities change. No result, path or recommendation guarantees admission, employment, income, satisfaction or another academic or professional outcome.

Integrations, links and third-party services

Optional features may involve Google, Bunny, ViaCEP, hosted fonts, or external links and content. Use of those services may also be governed by the relevant provider's terms and policies.

The availability and operation of external services depend on their providers. This does not remove any responsibility that mandatory law assigns to Start4Me or the institution providing access.

Availability, maintenance and development

We aim to keep the service secure and available, but interruptions may occur because of maintenance, updates, technical faults, incidents, third-party actions or events outside reasonable control. Where possible, steps will be taken to reduce impact and restore the service.

Features may be fixed, updated, replaced or discontinued for technical, legal, security or product reasons. Material changes affecting rights or contracted use will be communicated appropriately.

Account suspension and closure

Access may be limited or suspended for a breach of these terms, security risk, legal order, abusive use, the end of the relationship with an institution, or the need to protect users and the service.

Where circumstances allow, we will give the reason and a reasonable opportunity to correct the issue. Immediate steps may be taken in response to urgent risk, fraud, unauthorized access or a legal duty.

The user or responsible institution may request closure through the available channels. Data deletion or retention will follow the Privacy Policy and time limits required by law or needed to exercise legal rights.

Responsibilities and limits

Each party is responsible for harm it causes to the extent provided by applicable law and its contribution to the event. No provision excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The user is responsible for intentionally misusing their account, submitting content without authorization and conduct that breaches these terms or third-party rights, subject to the user's age, legal capacity and other relevant legal circumstances.

Statutory warranties, consumer rights and remedies for service failure remain protected. Any limitation must be interpreted narrowly and never constitutes a waiver of mandatory rights.

Privacy and personal data

The handling of personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms to reflect legal, security or service changes. The new version will show its update date, and material changes will be communicated before taking effect where required.

If law or the nature of a change requires renewed agreement, it will be requested specifically. An update will not retroactively reduce accrued rights.

Governing law, disputes and contact

These terms are governed by Brazilian law. Mandatory rules in the user's location will also be respected where applicable.

Before starting a dispute, contact the institution that provided access or support to seek a solution. In consumer relationships, consumer-protection bodies and the consumer's legally competent venue remain available.

Questions, security notices, closure requests or reports of violations may be submitted through the channels provided by the responsible institution or the support option available in the platform.
